When I logged in to Facebook this morning, I was greeted by a letter written by Titus Folks, Love Life Boise/Ontario that spoke to my spirit concerning our fight to save the unborn. I personally support Love Life with a monthly donation and I ask each of you to consider doing the same. With his permission, I have copied his letter here:

Last year, Charlie Kirk died. We were shocked. That night, I went to a prayer vigil in Boise, ID. I was disappointed by political theatre with no regard for real prayer and no gospel presentation. There were fist fights breaking out that went viral nationally. There was a lot of anger.

My wife Kris had wanted to plan a vigil, but I had told her no. I thought someone else would have it taken care of. I was wrong.

Recognizing our need for shepherds to guide us in this time of fear and uncertainty, my wife and I planned our own event. We focused on prayer, worship, and exhortation. We tapped our relationships with local churches to bring it together on a shoestring budget in just 2 days.

We sought the Lord’s will, and we were astonished as He brought our prayer vigil together with six local churches and over 1,200 people attending. Miraculously, Antifa protestors who came sat in silence, hearing the Gospel over and over as the saints sang for His glory and children played on the steps of our capitol.

Our event addressed two issues we saw in the broader conservative movement:

1. We are like lost sheep without a shepherd, so this event had to be Pastor-led.

2. Christ, our only hope in the face of death, must be at the center- not politics.

With these two goals in mind, and the many different gifts of the people of God being brought together, this event was a successful testimony to the conservative community about the life and death of Christ- through the testimony of Charlie Kirk. The people of God gathered without fear, and hundreds of “once a year” attending churchgoers recommitted their lives to Christ and began flooding our churches looking for new membership.

Emboldened by Charlie’s death, Kris recalled her recent visit to the abortion facility in Ontario Oregon, a border city where hundreds of mothers each year travel to a Planned Parenthood to deliver their precious children over to the abortionist. With horror and terrible grief, she had seen every Boise Idaho license plate and knew this mission field belonged to the church in Idaho. If this is the mission field of the church, then it is our mission field, personally. The next step was clear, to simply obey and begin showing up.

When her dedication became clear, Kris was approached about leading the ministry on the sidewalk. After prayer and consulting our Pastors we tentatively agreed to it as a family. I joined more frequently, as did our kids, one of our pastors, and many of our friends. God has already blessed this work and surprised us. Every week, he is inviting new people to link arms with us and Jesus at the Gates of Death. 

We have already seen as many as 20 people join hands together in prayer & worship on Thursdays when the surgical abortions are committed. Men and women alike, many taking time off work to minister to their preborn neighbors. Moms and babies. Pastors and young men. Elder Titus 2 women and representatives from pro-life groups have already started to show up and stand with us.

In November, Kris & I traveled to Charlotte, NC – where the Love Life ministry started over 10 years ago. We joined them on a Saturday outside the biggest abortion facility in the Southeast. We were joined by over 1,500 Christians and over 40 mobilized churches. We saw little children playing together whose families had chosen to let them live when they had been marked for death. 

Over the last decade, the Love Life ministry in Charlotte, NC has seen:

81,000 Christians join in prayer

3,725 baby saves

174 professions of faith

200 partnering churches

This same work of the spirit can be unleashed in the Treasure Valley of Idaho and Oregon. We know from personal experience that the Church saves lives when it just shows up. 

In 2022, our family lived in Indiana. When abortion facilities were shut down after Roe V Wade was reversed, we joined our friends in Indianapolis for a rally at the last open planned parenthood on the last day of legal abortion. 

Outside, we prayed and sang. My wife had walked off from the group to nurse our son Bo, when a car turned into the abortion facility and stopped right in the driveway. The driver pointed at my wife while talking to a sidewalk counselor who was ready with a gift bag of resources. The sidewalk counselor friend smiled, waved goodbye to the car as it backed out, then walked towards us. “She said that you have a cute baby, and she is keeping hers.” When the church shows up. God moves. We see the need for this work and the Lord’s blessing on this ministry. 

The ministry of Love Life in Ontario, OR has already seen fruit with 30 babies saved from abortion, 4 adult professions of faith, and 3 workers who quit to find a godly career. We know that it can grow further with full-time attention from our family. Our heart’s desire is to see the church in Idaho embrace the families that are delivering their children over to abortion in Oregon. We want these families running to the church, not from the church, and our own lives have been a testimony to the work of Jesus through his Bride in the lives of families and children.

Our ministry still has financial needs. We are praying for 25 more financial partners to commit to a monthly donation of $100 before next year. This will allow us to fund our family’s needs while we serve, provide resources for women who choose life, and train up churches in Idaho & Oregon to stand with us.

With your support, we will mobilize Christians to show up for daily ministry outside the abortion facility, monthly prayer walks in our cities, and long-term ministry with families who choose life.
